Long Dark Night
Like the previous series "Simulacras", to which this cycle is directly connected, "The Long Dark Night" deals with the idea of digital existence, virtual reality and materialistic hedonism. Other points of contact between all pieces are the retreat of personal individualism, loneliness, the rise of artificial intelligence to the position of man, the shift from the physical - real experience to a better, more accessible and instant virtual-digital one. Formally, the paintings are based on photomontages that have subtle spatial inaccuracies and paradoxes symbolizing the artificiality of the whole scene and they are darker and already exclusively monochrome in contrast to the works of "Simulakcras"
The main piece of the series "Night Flight" is a self-portrait - a figure in the center of the composition observing himself through a headset controlling a flying drone. The painting is a depiction of an appearance from one's own body, a turning away from materialistic pleasures that will make us happy only for a short time before each one of them becomes commonplace and shifts the bar of satisfaction a little higher.
Dlouhá temná noc
Podobně jako předchozí série "Simulakra" na níž tento cyklus přímo navazuje, pojednává "Dlouhá temná noc" o představě digitální existence, virtuální reality a materialistického hedonismu. Dalšími styčnými body jsou ústup osobního individualismu, samota, nástup umělé inteligence na pozice člověka, posun od fyzického - skutečného prožitku k lepšímu dostupnějšímu a instantnějšímu virtuálně-digitálnímu. Formálně malby vycházejí z fotomontáží jež mají jemné prostorové nepřesnosti a paradoxy symbolizující artificialitu celé scény a oproti dílum "Simulakra" jsou temnější a již výhradně monochromní.
Ústřední obraz "Noční let" je autoportrét - figura v centru kompozice pozorujíc sebe sama skrz headset ovládající letící dron. Malba je zobrazením vystoupení z vlastního těla, odvratem od materialistických potěšení jež nás Učiní šťastnými jen na krátký okamžik než nám pokaždé zevšední a posune laťku uspokojení zase o něco výše.
